The vintage .gif has gone “vintage”
This is just for fun, but it’s very well thought out and really does get your imagination going…
When Photoshop wizard, Kevin Weir, spots a sombre, 19th-Century black-and-white photograph, his imagination runs wild – what could this image become, grow into, or change how you feel about or see what the picture depicts, far from its Victorian origin? As Kevin explains, “I just stare at the picture for a while and things start coming to me that I want to bring to life.”

Ever wondered…how to paint a plane??
British Airways has repainted the first of nine A319 aircraft with a dove design, to mark the start of the London 2012 Olympics.
The artwork was created by Brighton-based designer Pascal Anson, and will make its first scheduled flight on BA’s 1420 Heathrow to Copenhagen, this Tuesday.

Robo-Cop meets Robo-Cheetah
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about new, scary robotics…
I’ve just come across a new world record that has been achieved by… a robot! Dubbed the Robo-Cheetah, this thing doesn’t run but gallops, and is eerily as competent as its natural counterpart.

The beautiful “Derelicts”
I’m mad on all things classic and vintage, always looking for that missing link that makes cars art… and I reckon I’ve found it!
I came across this idea referred to as The Derelicts – vintage classics refashioned into stylish, modern vehicles. All vehicles are thoroughly modern underneath their decaying bodies, which is what makes The Derelicts so desirable and so different.
Luckily, I don’t wear any mythical piece of jewellery…

There is no mistaking that, here in the office, everyone knows I like my VWs (especially the air-cooled variety), eleciting many jokes and jibes about me driving around in such an old car and the fact that I will be pushing the thing more than driving it (well, this was true a few weeks back when I did phone the AA, but…).

iRobot is coming…slowly
We may be a good few years away from the robotic intelligence we witnessed in iRobot but Honda seems to be getting rather quite close…
Honda’s Asimo robot can run, play football and even pour a drink now… for its master!
